Sketchy Thursdays on a Scrappy Mother's Day

Was directed by a friend to the Sketchy Thursdays blog and found their weekly sketch.  Inspired me to finally use these dodgy boogie boarding photos that have been kicking around for a while.  We had a fabulous time frolicking in the ocean on the Sunshine Coast (thanks Auntie Betty & Uncle Chris!) and I'm glad I finally found the information to scrap it!

Back at it again!

I'm back at the online challenges... And here are some of my latest entries:

I uploaded this one at Screen 2 Scrap (http://screen2scrap.blogspot.com/)  I love their concept:  Take a popular movie poster (this month was Fried Green Tomatoes), throw in some basic criteria and have at it!  Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

This one was for a sketch challenge at A 2 Z Scraplets (http://a2zscraplets.typepad.com/).  I love sketches because they give me just enough to boost my creative mojo, but I still have the freedom to make it my own.  The frangipani flowers in this layout were picked for me by my kids when we were at the koala sanctuary.  They are such a beautiful, delicate flower... just like me!  (*lol*)

How to Participate

At the beginning of each week (Monday) we will post an inspiration thread with some tips, tricks and a YMBD original sketch. You will be required to take one photo a day each week (7 photos/week). You may choose to use some of the tips and tricks we've suggested and the sketch, or not (that is up to you). Either way, you must take one photo a day each week, and create a layout with your 7 photos (this will result in 92 photos over the summer and 13 layouts). You must upload your layouts to our "92 Days of Summer" Gallery, located (Deadline for submissions: September 30th, 2009). You must keep track of your progress and keep your tracking post up to date.

Time for an UPDATE!

The fine DT at YMDB put on a fabulous online crop a little while ago, and really got my mojo going. While not every page is my FINEST work, I thought I'd highlight a few.

OK, so I heard this song on the radio, and immediately had to go home and create this page. It's one of those things where you hear the song as background buzz for so long, then suddenly, you notice the words and it's like the first time... and these words really describe my dreams for our children.

I always knew I wanted to include these photos on a B&W layout, and this challenge allowed me to finally make it happen.

This was another photo that was waiting for inspiration, and a kit that was begging for a photo... a match made in heaven! Scrapbookers' heaven, anyway...

I think this one is going to go down as one of my all time favourite layouts. I totally lifted the heart from a magazine, but it just fit so perfectly with the admiration that Vada has for her Uncle Ron. The kids miss him so much... hopefully he won't be living in Kenora forever...
