So, I've sent it.

I don't know if I'm crazy or not, but I sent in my application to Upsy Daisy Designs... Wish me Luck!

While you're at it, I've posted MY favourite layouts for your viewing pleasure... There's one more, but I'm not quite done that one yet... you'll just have to check back and see! :)

We are hot, aren't we: ;)

Journalling is always a challenge for me... I like the design and hate to mess it up with my writing. I thought this was a fun way to include the story about that day...

Five years after this photo was taken, I still marvel at the miracle that Caleb is. It was fun to get back to basics with this layout.

Caleb is such a natural leader... And as soon as I saw all this patterned paper, the ideas started to form.

I've always wanted to see how you could take a really "boy" layout (like I usually make for Caleb) and see how it translates into a girly look... I'm quite happy with my Journey version of the page!

Marc's TOP 10

Ok, so it's harder to narrow down a few favourites from 5 years of Scrapbooking. Therefore, I recruited my husband to help me out. Yeah, bad idea. I think his favourites were the polar opposite of mine. But since he may see something I don't, that I should probably give his favourites some blogspace time too...

Using multiple mats is an easy way to fill a page where an 8x10 photo might usually suit. I like that by using the 5x7, I was able to tell the story of Caleb and his cupcake.

Sometimes the best pictures just aren't posed.

Mosaic Technique. I've never done it before this layout, because most of the samples I've seen involve flowers, and I don't photograph flowers. But I love how the technique allowed me to make Marc and Caleb the focus of this layout even though they were a small part of the photo. They are also both pop-dotted so that they stand out even more in my album.

Awwww... I mean, what else can you say? My baby and our hero.

A really easy layout that just turned out so good. I love that we brought all Caleb's favourite toys to this photoshoot.

An layout that I designed for one intro class that I was teaching - that just turned out so pretty.

Paper tearing to match the photos... this was such a beautiful scene...

Most of my layouts are double layouts. I just seem to have too much that I want to convey in my album! I like how I placed the vellum on the photo and cut out the ovals to focus on Caleb and the plane he was about to get on.

This is an older layout; I made it about 3 years ago, but I keep coming back to it. There's just something about how I captured the spirit of the day. I miss Nancy and Adrian. They live too far away. :(

Most of my wedding album is very simple. I haven't really put much into it. Marc really likes this one... I'm kinda on the fence...

Guess there's a first time for everything...

I really had no intentions of "blogging". I'm not a blogger. Maybe more specifically, I'm not a writer. I can perform someone else's words, I can interpret them in my own way, but when it comes to writing my own... forget about it.

I like to create. I have painted, performed, acted, danced... and for the past 5 years, I've scrapbooked. Which leads me to why this blog exists in the first place.

I do some teaching at our local scrapbook store, and was doing some late night websurfing for new ideas. I was tickled to discover this company called Upsy Daisy Designs (http://www.upsydaisydesigns.com/)! They have some adorable products and I am already hounding my friend who owns our local store to GET SOME OF THOSE PRODUCTS IN!

I've also been doing some toying with the idea of applying to share my craft. I can't say that I am better than the next scrapbooker, but I've received a number of compliments over the years on my designs. So what the heck? I thought about submitting my designs for publication, but I never seem to fit the theme of the month. Ultimately, I'd love to join a design team, but I never really knew how to get my foot in the door. Then I found the design team call on Upsy Daisy Designs' website. What are the chances that I have what they are looking for? Maybe slim, but the best I can do is put myself out there and see what happens...
